About this blog

Welcome to my website Chasing Columba.

The purpose of this blog is act as an online journal and canvas as I explore the indigenous Christ centred spirituality of the British Isles.

As a follower of Jesus I have long wanted to explore the depths and riches of the creators deposit in my homeland.  I have called the blog, Chasing Columba as he is one of those towering figures in the early British & Irish church that I have found captivating and inspiring. His dynamic relationship with the Holy Trinity demonstrated a deep conviction, poetic passion, strength of personality, prophetic wisdom, sensitivity to creation and spiritual aesthetic practice that I find truly captivating.

In chasing Columba I hope to be open to the internal work (mystical) of the Holy Spirit in life, discover the external work (justice) of Christ in the poor and discover the living landscapes of the Father in creation.

Chasing Columba is about finding Christ and about being found, about logging that journey of the Spirit in life and turning keys in my daily practice that will sustain my walk in presence of the Holy Trinity.

As the Hebridean Christians prayed may we all be held,

In the eye of the Father who created us

The eye of the Son who purchased us

In the eye of the Spirit who cleanses us

In friendship and affection….
