Rune before Bedtime

I filmed this in West County Cork (phone) on Sheepshead Point, late July in the evening just before sundown. I found myself reciting under my breath, this opening rune from the Carmina Gadelica as I walked down to the coastline, as I turned a corner I saw this old derelict, what I assumed was a shepherd’s hut and was caught up in its presence. It still held the sense of being alive and pregnant with the voices of the past, gently calling, murmuring their prayers to Holy Trinity as I was doing at the time. Alone and yet known.

I think prayers, psalms and scripture are better recited than read as it elevates them beyond intellectual rationalism to the foothills of heaven where they seem to demand a response from the eternal Trinity.

My efforts will not win me an Oscar, but I know I am always heard.
